At Stroud College we offer a variety of popular computing and IT courses suitable for all abilities. Our Computing for Beginners and Crash Course Beginners IT is suitable for complete beginners looking for a gentle introduction into Computing, whereas our ECDL Advanced Database Level 3 is suitable for students who want to gain a professional qualification at an advanced level.
Many of our courses are located at our two Flexible Learning Centres, Stroud College campus and Dursley. We also offer a range of courses at varied community venues in and around the Stroud District.
Our flexible learning courses can be accessed from any of our Flexible Learning Centres to suit your personal needs. You will be supported by specialist trainers at all locations. Our taught classes offer a more traditional teaching environment with the support of our lecturing staff.
At Stroud College and at all of our community venues we offer excellent IT facilities, modern equipment and up-to-date software packages.
ECDL
This qualification is for anyone who wants to certify their computer skills according to a Pan-European industry standard. When you next go for an interview and you need to prove how efficient your PC skills are this qualification verifies your competence to employers across the EU community.
ITQ
Have you achieved ECDL within the last three years?
Did you know that you can use this towards the new ITQ qualification at level 2?
ITQ is an NVQ in IT which allows you to demonstrate your skills and how you can apply them in the workplace. This innovative course allows you to select the units that best reflect your job profile, needs and interests to gain a qualification. You can even choose units at different levels, allowing you to adapt the course depending on your personal requirements.
CLAiT
CLAiT is a qualification designed to recognise the skills, knowledge and understanding of IT users everywhere, whether in employment, education or training. Courses leading to a CLAiT qualification will equip learners with the basic range of transferable skills necessary to meet the demands of the modern workplace and will prepare learners for progression to further training and accreditation in IT.
This is a natural progression for students who have completed the ICT Skills For Life course.
