Stroud College has an in-house Counselling Service, which is open to all students. This is a confidential resource, where you can explore any issues you have, which may be affecting your studies here at college.

You can make an appointment through your tutor or Learning Mentor, or by popping into Customer Services. Alternatively, you can phone the counsellor on 01453 761272 or phone or text to 07929 148006. You can also email the counsellor on counsellor@stroudcol.ac.uk

There is a drop-in service on a Wednesday, where you can just pop in for 5 or 10 minutes, to get something off your chest. At this time, you may want to make further appointments to see the counsellor.

Your first meeting with the counsellor will be an assessment session. The purpose of this is for the counsellor to explain exactly what is involved in counselling, and for you to have the opportunity to talk about what has brought you to counselling.

At the end of this process, you can make an informed decision as to whether you would like further sessions. If you would, you will be offered up to six sessions initially, which will take place at the same time each week.  After this, there will be a review, to decide where to go from here.

Alternatively, you can register for online counselling. This would take place by email once a week. Just email the counsellor, who will then provide you with further information about this service.
