Course Description
This programme is for people who are working in the electro- technical industry. You will gain the skills and qualifications needed to further your career in the industry. Training will take place in the workplace and at college.
What will I study?
• L3 NVQ Diploma in Electrotechnical services in electrical installation (building and structures)
• Functional skills - English, Maths and IT
• Achievement Measurement test (AM²)
What do I need to join?
4 GCSEs at grades A-C, preferably in Maths, English, Science and Design & Technology and/or completed Apprenticeship in Electrical
Installation.
How long is the course?
4 years. You will be working with your employer and attend college one day per week.
How will I learn?
The apprenticeship is undertaken both in college and in the workplace with practical work and assignments.
How will I know how I am doing?
Coursework, tests, completion of portfolio and assessment in the workplace for NVQ. You will also have a training advisor who will complete regular reviews with you and your employer.
Are there any extra costs?
If you are aged 16-18 there are no fees to pay. If you are aged 19 or over your employer may be asked to make a contribution towards the cost of your award.
