Course Description
The Advanced Apprenticeship framework is aimed at meeting the standards for Hospitality Level 3. You will be supported by your employer to pursue a National Vocational Qualification and earn while you learn. Whether you supervise or manage a team of 2 or 20 people, this qualification could be for you. Study will include health & safety, team leadership, resource control and customer service.
What will I study?
• L3 NVQ Diploma in Hospitality Supervision and Leadership or Professional Cookery to include:
- Provide leadership for your team
- Develop productive working relationships
- Contribute to resource control
- Maintain health, hygiene, safety and security in work place
- Lead a team to improve customer service
- Maintain food safety
• L3 Award in Hospitality Supervision and Leadership Principles, or Professional Cookery
• Employment rights & responsibilities
• Functional skills - English and Maths
What do I need to join?
You will be employed within a supervisory or management role for a minimum of 9 months, achieved Level 2 NVQ or equivalent and have 3 GCSEs at Grade C or above in subjects including Maths, English and Design / Information Technology.
How long is the course?
From 12-18 months.
How will I learn?
All learning will be undertaken in the work place, known as on-job training. A qualified Assessor will meet with you regularly.
How will I know how I am doing?
The assessor will liaise with you and your employer and involve you in the planning process to ensure that training needs are well planned and co-ordinated between you, your employer and the college.
Are there any extra costs?
If you are aged 16-18 there are no fees to pay. If you are aged 19 or over your employer may be asked to make a contribution towards the cost of your award.
What can I do next?
Progress onto a Level 4 or onto Higher Education (a foundation degree or HNC / HND) in your chosen career.
What are my career opportunities?
You could pursue a career in assistant management and/or senior management in your chosen industry
