The Apprenticeship framework is aimed at meeting the standards for Hospitality & Catering at Level 2. Whilst being employed, you will be supported by your employer to pursue a National Vocational Qualification and earn whilst you learn. From food service to cleaning, there is an apprenticeship for everyone. The qualifications will enable you to demonstrate and confirm your competence and ability to do your job. It will also raise your awareness to Health & Safety, Team Work and Customer Service.
You are required to have a reasonable standard of general education. Ideally you will have 3 GCSEs at Grade C or above in Maths, English and Design/Information Technology. You will also be required to be employed for a minimum of 16 hours a week in the relevant job role and industry.
12-18 months
All learning will be undertaken in the work place, known as on-job training. A qualified assessor will meet with you regularly.
You could progress onto QCF Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Hospitality Supervision and Leadership.
Pursue experience and expertise within job role and department. Further career opportunities in a higher job role could include supervision and management.
The assessor will liaise with you and your employer and involve you in the planning process to ensure that training needs are well planned and co-ordinated between you, your employer and the College.
If you are aged 16-18 there are no fees to pay. If you are aged 19 or over your employer may be asked to make a contribution towards the cost of your award.
