The Construction department at Stroud College was recognised as Grade 1 Outstanding at the last OFSTED inspection. Today's construction industry provides a wide range of opportunities and job prospects. At Stroud College we offer excellent training programmes at various levels to suit your individual needs and ambitions. You will be taught by lecturers who have worked extensively throughout the industry. They have experience of working on industrial, commercial and domestic projects and are well positioned to help you to develop the relevant skills to further your career.
We have excellent links with local employers and the Construction Skills Awarding Body and offer courses to meet local and national skill shortages in highly popular construction trades including brickwork, woodwork, electrical installation, plumbing and renewable energy.
The renewable energy sector in particular is experiencing sustained growth and excellent employment opportunities. We have a very good track record for students completing qualifications and successfully progressing to employment or further education and training. You may also be able to take an Apprenticeship Programme that will allow you to be employed and earn whilst you learn.
