Envy Salon pampering for Paul’s Place members

Students studying Hair and Beauty at SGS invited members of Bristol-based charity, Pauls Place, to attend the College’s Envy Salon, Monday 1st April, for a day of pampering.

The visitors were treated to a selection of hair and beauty treatments and products including, wash and blow dry, nail polish and mini facials. Treatments were carried out by the College’s level 1 students.

SGS Work Placement Coach, Theresa Penfold, comments:

“Staff from Paul’s Place said this visit to Envy salon was a real treat for their members as pampering is something they have been looking to do but conventional salons struggle to meet their access needs and specialist requirements. Both the staff and members were really impressed with the College’s facilities, especially the access for users of larger wheelchairs.

“The SGS learners were a credit to the College. They were supportive, professional and friendly. Everyone from Paul’s place thoroughly enjoyed themselves and greatly appreciated their treatments. It’s the type of treatments some of the members cannot do for themselves due to their disabilities.”
