Advanced Apprenticeship Opportunity at the Royal United Hospitals Bath NHSFT

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Royal United Hospitals Bath NHS Foundation Trust. We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated person for the role of Assistant Purchasing Specialist (Advanced Apprentice) to join our Procurement Team within the Finance Department.

If successful, you will be a key member of our team, providing admin assistance for the procurement of Goods, Services and Works across the hospital, under the supervision of our purchasing specialists. As a team, we need to achieve the lowest cost solution at least risk to the Trust.

Our work must be consistent with EU Public Procurement Regulations, Standing Financial Instructions and the operational requirements of the Trust. The successful apprentice will start with us on a fixed term contract, circa 18-24 months. working towards their Assistant Purchasing Specialist Apprenticeship Standards, with a view to progressing into permanent employment in a Band 3 position that is being held for the candidate on successful completion of their level 3 apprenticeship.

To succeed in this role, you will be numerate and analytical . You will have strong IT skills (Including Microsoft Excel) and an excellent eye for detail. You will be hardworking and motivated and a good team player with the communication skills to work well with people from a wide range of teams across the hospital.

Full training is provided, and no previous procurement experience is necessary. The Purchasing Department is a supportive team and would encourage further procurement training beyond this apprenticeship. This is an excellent entry point for some keen to develop a career within procurement.
