Stroud College Staff members, Hannah Moody and Helen Fitzgerald, moved after the current situation in Haiti, took it upon themselves to organise a charity cake sale on 4th February 2010.
Helen and Hannah were originally going to make all the cakes themselves but then disaster struck, things were burnt, sugar was forgotten and after two hours of hard work in the kitchen, had nothing to sell.. they couldn"t even pay people to take them away!
Stroud College staff members kindly stepped in with a generous and impressive donation of various cakes and biscuits. ACE students also prepared some delicious cookies and rice crispy chocolate squares; and staff provided various cakes including two large cakes that were raffled off. Student Ambassadors of the college helped at the stall and donated cakes on the day.
Hannah Moody, Curriculum Administrator for the ACE department commented, "The response by staff and students was amazing and so much more than we anticipated."Â
The total raised was £175.00 (approx) in total.
Helen Fitzgerald, Student Liason Officer adds, "We would both like to say a huge thank you to everyone who gave up their time to make cakes, a huge thank you to those who bought cakes and a huge thank you to those who just donated."Â
