‘Thoroughly enjoyed it’ and ‘absolutely brilliant’ is typical of the feedback from hair and beauty students at Stroud who have been learning from top professionals as part of Industry Week. Ryan Fortey from Headkandy in Gloucester gave a barbering demonstration to Level 3 students and also described his own career path - from leaving school without many qualifications to gaining national recognition with competition work to setting up his own salon. Other popular demonstrations included Minx Nails and Studex ear piercing.
Course co-ordinator and Level 3 tutor Rachael Garside said: “We want to inspire learners and show them just how far a career in hair and beauty can take them. We’ll be giving some of our students a first taste of competition this summer with a National Hairdressers Federation event in June.”
