This course is for anyone who may need to support someone with a learning disability who is diagnosed with a life-threatening illness. Please note we do not recommend this course for anyone who has recently suffered a bereavement.

 

What will I learn?

AIMTo enable you to:

  • Lessons learnt from research into supporting people with learning disabilities who are dying
  • Recognising and minimising the stress affecting everyone"s communication and behaviour
  • Person-centred End of Life planning
  • Roles, expectations, policies and procedures
  • Barriers of achieving best practice in this area and how to overcome them

  • Accessing further information or support
