BBC First Click – Beginners Internet and Email

This course is run as part of the BBC First Click campaign to encourage people who currently don’t use the internet, to understand and enjoy its benefits.  It is aimed at beginners.  There are no specific entry requirements – all you need is a willingness to learn.

How will the course be delivered?

The course will be delivered in Stroud College’s Learn IT Centre, which is situated in Stroud. You will supported by our Learning Co-ordinators who will always be on hand to assist you if you have any difficulties whilst progressing through the course.

What will I learn?

This course will take you through the first essential steps of using a computer and accessing the internet. It will explain computer jargon, using a mouse and keyboard, sending and receiving email, what the internet is, searching the internet and internet security. Once you have grasped the basics, you can move on to start looking at topics that interest you. We have additional packs that cover the topics of gardening, cooking and nature/wildlife which can you can also ask to use.

Do I receive a qualification?

This is a non-certificated course and there are no formal assessments to undertake. You will however receive a certificate to show that you have completed the course.
