This course will enable candidates to design and install domestic solar hot water systems. ; The course will cover fluid filled, indirect solar water heating systems, covering the following main types of system and collector types; fully filled sealed system, drain-back system, flat plate collector, heat pipe and direct flow evacuated tube collectors.
Through assessment and regular feedback from your tutor.
Level 2 plumbing qualification. Experienced plumbing or heating professional. Certificate in Unvented Hot Water systems (preferred). Certificate in WRAS Water Regulations (preferred). As part of the enrolment process for this course, an informal interview will be carried out to assess the suitability of the course for your needs.
The course is delivered at Stroud College over 2 1/2 days.
Regulations and Standards, Solar heated storage types, Basic system design and integration, Installation materials and methods, Servicing and fault finding, Collector types, Solar primary system types, Internal and external site surveys, ; Filling and commissioning.
An awarding body certificate will be issued on successful completion.
2 passport photographs and your National Insurance number.
